Behavioral Health Care Mgr I, II or III (Job Family) Location: Remote North Carolina (prefer candidates that live within 100 miles by car to Winston-Salem, NC) Hours: This is an evening rotational schedule and is eligible for shift differential: 1st week: Monday 5pm-5:30am or 8:30pm-8am Saturday and Sunday: 7am - 7 pm or 7pm-7am 2nd week: Tuesday-Friday 5pm-3:30am or 9:30pm-8am
We service our members 24 hours/ 7 days per week. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week center. Currently we are seeking candidates for full-time positions that will work after hours shifts, this may include weekends, and holidays.
This position may be filled at either the BH Care Mgr I, II or III level. The hiring manager will determine level, based on the candidate’s experience and background.
Responsible for managing psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder facility-based and outpatient professional treatment health benefits through telephonic or written review. Primary duties may include but are not limited to: Uses appropriate screening criteria knowledge and clinical judgment to assess member needs to ensure access to medically necessary quality behavioral healthcare in a cost effective setting in accordance with UM Clinical Guidelines and contract. Refers cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate. Performs psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder assessment coordination implementation case planning monitoring and evaluating to promote quality member outcomes to optimize member health benefits and to promote effective use of health benefits and community resources.
MS or MA in social work counseling or a related behavioral health field or a degree in nursing
3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder treatment; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Current active unrestricted license, such as RN, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LCMHC or Clinical Psychologist to practice as a health professional within the state of North Carolina required.
Candidates must reside in North Carolina
Previous experience in case management/utilization management with a broad range of experience with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases preferred.
