Reporting to the VP, Process Excellence & Business Automation and leading a team the Staff VP, Strategic Initiatives will provide direct professional support and lead the comprehensive strategic planning for the Process Excellence and Automation Organization in support of the leadership team.

This leader will actively engage across multiple business areas to ensure the execution of key initiatives and projects to meet business commitments with the goal to enable a continuous improvement mindset across the organization. A successful candidate will have the expertise and demonstrated success as a thought leader with a track record of delivering results for large-scale transformational initiatives.

In this role the Staff VP, Strategic Initiatives:

  • Designs and executes the Process Excellence and Automation processes and strategically responds to and prioritizes resource demands aligned to the most impactful areas to focus on value delivery and organizational commitments and implementation of key decisions

  • Develops and coordinates the department’s communication strategy in collaboration with Corporate Communications partners and Enterprise Change Management to create integrated communication and change management plans and ensures implementation of key decisions

  • Conducts in-depth strategic research in applicable specialty areas and uses findings to inform departmental strategy

  • Provides analytical support including the analysis and synthesis of business and technical information to key stakeholders with high attention to detail

  • Analyzes, researches, and develops complex materials and documents relating to business performance, market dynamic issues, operational issues, and general management issues

  • Translates complex information into presentation-friendly formats including graphical displays to a wide variety of internal and external executive audiences. Manages external stakeholder relations strategies and facilitates the decision-making process across the leadership team

  • Leads the annual and strategic planning for the business, in partnership with key stakeholders and Finance to develop an integrated business plan while coordinating efforts with the executive leadership team

  • Leverages organizational strategy to identify business talent needs and works collaboratively with the leadership team and Human Resources to facilitate effective workforce planning activities

  • Champions associate development and has a pulse on the internal talent pipeline

  • Acts as the personal advisor and sounding board to the leadership team and triages work on an ongoing basis

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and;

  • 8 years of management experience with significant large-scale project management, strategic planning, and/or consulting in the health care industry; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, financial, and analytical skills and business acumen

  • Strategic thinker with a broad & deep understanding of change management, business integration, and automation

  • Operations and Project Management experience highly desired

  • Must be able to influence across all levels of the organization, from staff to the executive level

  • Ability to travel may be required

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of business operations and demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement through process redesign and automation technologies

  • Demonstrated orientation to understanding the business and business strategy, with the ability to apply talent management process and tools to support strategic business objectives

  • Advanced skills with Windows: PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and Word

  • Experience with Application Based Reporting/Analysis software

  • Master’s degree preferred
