Responsible for developing long-term strategies regarding financial planning and investments for the Pharmacy Benefit Management business unit. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides financial leadership, decision support andstrategic consultation to PBM management team.

  • Leads PBM management team in annual planning andbudgeting.

  • Leads the review of potential investment dollars neededto support strategy.

  • Develops financial controls, interfaces and processesto ensure fiscal integrity.

  • Counsels senior PBM management on ways to set and makeplans through aggressive but financially controlled growth.

  • Participates in optimizing strategic initiatives andplanning through challenges to cost/benefit long term investments.

  • Oversees business unit projects involving significantmonetary investment.

  • Designs and executes all PBM management processes.

  • Provides direct professional supportand staffing to executive management and leads the comprehensive strategicand annual planning for the business.

  • Translates complex, technicalinformation into presentation-friendly formats including graphicaldisplays to a wide variety of internal and external executive audiences.

  • Analyzes, researches and developscomplex materials and documents relating to health issues, businessperformance, market dynamic issues, operational issues, and generalmanagement issues.

  • Coordinates programs with HumanResources to enhance learning and growth opportunities for the PBM team.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluatesperformance of direct reports.

  • Requires a BA/BS degreein a related field; 8 years of management experience with significantlarge-scale project management, strategic planning and/or consulting in thehealth care industry; or any combination of education and experience, whichwould provide an equivalent background. Master’s degree preferred. Excellentleadership, financial, and analytical skills required. Strategic thinker withbroad & deep understanding of the health care industry required. Must beable to travel.

  • 8-10 years relatedexperience in significant large-scale project management, strategic planningand /or consulting in the pharmacy industry preferred.
