Responsible for developing long-term strategies regarding financial planning and investments for the Pharmacy Benefit Management business unit. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
Provides financial leadership, decision support andstrategic consultation to PBM management team.
Leads PBM management team in annual planning andbudgeting.
Leads the review of potential investment dollars neededto support strategy.
Develops financial controls, interfaces and processesto ensure fiscal integrity.
Counsels senior PBM management on ways to set and makeplans through aggressive but financially controlled growth.
Participates in optimizing strategic initiatives andplanning through challenges to cost/benefit long term investments.
Oversees business unit projects involving significantmonetary investment.
Designs and executes all PBM management processes.
Provides direct professional supportand staffing to executive management and leads the comprehensive strategicand annual planning for the business.
Translates complex, technicalinformation into presentation-friendly formats including graphicaldisplays to a wide variety of internal and external executive audiences.
Analyzes, researches and developscomplex materials and documents relating to health issues, businessperformance, market dynamic issues, operational issues, and generalmanagement issues.
Coordinates programs with HumanResources to enhance learning and growth opportunities for the PBM team.
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluatesperformance of direct reports.
Requires a BA/BS degreein a related field; 8 years of management experience with significantlarge-scale project management, strategic planning and/or consulting in thehealth care industry; or any combination of education and experience, whichwould provide an equivalent background. Master’s degree preferred. Excellentleadership, financial, and analytical skills required. Strategic thinker withbroad & deep understanding of the health care industry required. Must beable to travel.
8-10 years relatedexperience in significant large-scale project management, strategic planningand /or consulting in the pharmacy industry preferred.
