This position will support the Specialty Payment Innovation team, which is responsible for developing and operationalizing value-based payment programs for specialty care. The team leads enterprise-wide work on bundled payments initiatives, specialty medical homes, and value-based pricing for specialists. The person who fills this position will report to the Director II, Payment Innovation, and will support the development and enhancement of specialty payment models and strategy in collaboration with Anthem’s analytics team, legal department, local market leadership, and portfolio management, among others. Successful candidates are those who seek dynamic, fast-paced, multifaceted roles and responsibilities.

Responsible for driving the execution of payment innovation strategies including patient centered primary care (PC2), accountable care organization arrangements and chronic care models.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides oversight as the business lead for payment innovation strategies. Monitors and reports on status of key deliverables, milestones and dependencies.

  • Identifies key operational processes required to support implementation. Develops mitigation plans to address barriers and challenges.

  • Translates complex information and coordinates the communication and implementation of key decisions and accomplishments.

  • Provides analytical support including the analysis and synthesis of complementary programs and initiatives.

  • Partners with business leaders to develop and update an integrated roadmap of aligned strategies.

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field; 6+ years of experience working with executive level staff with broad & deep understanding of the health care industry, strategic planning and project management; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Experience with value-based payment programs preferred.

  • MBA, MHA, or MPH degree preferred.
