Given Anthem’s scale, balance sheet, broad national reach and depth at the local market level, Anthem has established a new business unit called the Diversified Business Group. The Diversified Business Group is a solutions-oriented business unit within the Company that will support Anthem and other external clients in the pursuit of transforming healthcare. The Program Integrity sits within the Diversified Business Group.

Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the development of new business areas which complements existing offerings.

Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes market trends, proposes new product/service initiatives, andcoordinates with the Marketing/Product Innovation area to implement products.

  • Drivesall phases of product life-cycle from ideation through implementation.

  • Providesoversight and resources to key projects.

  • Develops business plans and formulatesstrategies for both new and existing businesses.

  • Provides research, analysisand recommendations on the external environment as part of the development ofstrategic plans for the business unit.

  • Analyzes major competitor strategies.

  • Identifies and monitors changing patterns of competition and recommendsresponses.

  • Plans, directs, and controls the resources and efforts of thereporting and data analysis team to accomplish the business objectives throughinformation management.

  • Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support)to support the business unit information needs and strategic initiatives.

  • Provides leadership in motivating indirect subordinates to accomplish reportingand data analysis goals and objectives.

  • Reports project status and progress toVP segment business and other management.

  • Acts as a liaison to otherBUs/companies.

  • Implements product/operational changes resulting from changinglegislation/regulations.


  • Requiresa BA/BS degree; 8 - 10 years of business development experience in thehealthcare and/or insurance industry including 5 years of progressivedirect/indirect leadership responsibilities; or any combination of educationand experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Masters degreepreferred.

  • Experience in product development preferred.

  • Organizational,analytical, facilitation, consultation, negotiation, persuasion and project managementskills required.
