Distribution Strategy Director
We are looking for a highly collaborative and motivated leader to create and execute a business development strategy to deliver improved sales results across Anthem's commercial medical business.
The Distribution Strategy Director, which will report to the VP of Sales Effectiveness, will work closely with cross-functional areas to develop and lead both a comprehensive broker strategy and sales compensation framework.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and experience in health insurance markets, products or distribution, specifically related to broker strategy, and will have experience in sales compensation.
Essential responsibilities include: - Creation of a comprehensive broker segmentation and strategy across all commercial medical lines of business - Leadership of the design, development and implementation of a sales incentive, rewards and compensation program to fully align sales incentives with the goals of the business - Coordination of resources (people, funding, support) to support the necessary resources required to develop comprehensive business plan - Development of close partnerships with internal and external stakeholders such as other business units and companies, segment and market leadership, sales and finance to ensure objective and priorities are aligned to push the business forward - Leadership of a reporting and data analytics team to identify, monitor and recommend actions in response to major competitor strategies and external market trends
Requires a BS/BA degree; minimum of 10 years of business development experience in the employee benefits industry, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Deep knowledge of health insurance market dynamics and distribution channels.
- Outstanding ability to lead and influence.
- Demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker with the ability to influence others and utilize resources to drive change.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when communicating difficult messages to key stakeholders.
- Proven understanding and use of analytics and metrics to inform strategic decisions.
