The Business Development Consultant is responsible for identifying and developing new business growth initiatives by maximizing strategies and growth opportunities in targeted markets identified through the annual planning process .

Primary duties to include, but are not limited to :

  • Providing business expertise, oversight and documentation of projects that impact the Group Retiree Solutions (GRS) business, with a specific focus on our group Medicare Part D pharmacy product,including providing input into business requirements, reviewing and approving business requirements, tracking project status and ensuring the cross-functional impact is vetted and addressed and that projects are appropriately resourced.

  • Provides solution oriented thinking to complex issues impacting Group Retiree business and works with cross-functional partners to drive issue resolution.

  • Requires a BA/BS related degree; 5 years of healthcare or Pharmacy Benefit Manager related experience preferably with an emphasis on Medicare Part D products; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • MS/MBA is preferred.

  • Ability to travel may be required.

  • Knowledge of the following Anthem system platforms is helpful: GBD Facets, WGS, Central Facets and CS90.

  • Experience with Medicare products for employer groups (Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage) is highly desirable.

  • Must have experience managing large, complex projects and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Project and Visio as well as other project management software
