Behavioral Health Care Manager I
Overnight schedule: Week 1: Tue –Fri 10pm-8:30am Week 2: Mon.7:30pm-8am Sat/Sun 7pm-8am
Location: Remote work from home
Licensure Required: Must live and be fully Licensed in the state of NC as an LMHC, LCSW, LPC, LPCC, LMFT, or RN.
This position manages a behavioral health crisis line to provide members with a service which is available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, every day of the year through a confidential, toll-free number. Behavioral health professionals help with any type of behavioral health distress the member may be experiencing and offers assistance in linking members to supportive available community resources.
Primary duties may include but are not limited to:
Uses appropriate screening criteria knowledge and clinical judgment to assess member needs to ensure access to medically necessary quality behavioral healthcare in a cost-effective setting in accordance with UM Clinical Guidelines and contract.
Refers cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate.
Performs psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder assessment coordination implementation case planning monitoring and evaluating to promote quality member outcomes to optimize member health benefits and to promote effective use of health benefits and community resources.
Requires MA/MS in social work, counseling or a related behavioral health field or a degree in nursing.
Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder treatment; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Requires current active unrestricted license such as LCMHC, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, RN or Clinical Psychologist to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in North Carolina.
Previous experience in utilization management reviews with a broad range of experience with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases preferred.
