Anthem National Accounts (ANA) CA VP Client Development Job Description:

  • Growth - Drive new logo business with marquee CA prospects by developing strategies that deliver compelling results for our customer’s business.

  • Skillfully articulate our differentiated digital first and simplified consumer experience value proposition.

  • Formulate, sell, and execute strategic integrated solutions that directly address employers’ most pressing business needs.

  • Quarterback the end to end sales development lifecycle to drive pipeline and increase close ratio. Coach your team to achieve success.

  • Customer Engagement – Develop and execute demand generation strategies to identify and establish strong customer relationships with C-level executives, key senior-level decision makers, stakeholders and influencers within large national accounts.

  • Thought Leadership – Contribute to strategies focused on expanding Anthem’s national account client base. Help sculpt Anthem’s business blueprint with your direct product, financial, and marketing insight.

  • Regional Leadership – Fortify Anthem’s presence on the West coast by using advanced industry knowledge and creative market activities to showcase Anthem’s capabilities and service offerings.

  • Lend expertise to other National and Local teams on key expansion and retention opportunities.

  • Establish a presence with influential associations such as Silicon Valley Employer Forum, Pacific Business Group on Health, etc.

  • Gather competitive intelligence to enhance our own company strategy.

  • Distribution Channel Management – Educate and shape the views of brokers and consultants to solidify Anthem’s place as an innovative market leader. Build relationships that position Anthem for sustained success.


  • Requires a BA/BS; 10 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Excellent leadership and relationship skills required. Candidates must demonstrate tenacity, clearly articulate solutions, exhibit strong business acumen, and have a proven track record of sales success to marquis CA-based employers. Extensive knowledge of local and national markets and health insurance sales required. Sales license necessary, if required by law. Qualifications
