Anthem is seeking a Health Policy Intern to join our Policy Team. The Intern will work on healthcare policy issues related to Medicare, Medicaid, and other healthcare programs.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Research and tracking of information and guidance:
Assist with the development and updating of tracking documents on issue-specific topics
Support research and the tracking of guidance released from state and federal agencies
Maintaining and updating our internal website
Assist with drafting internal communications
Regulatory and legislative review support: Assist in the review of proposed and final federal or state legislation and regulation, including the development of detailed summaries and analysis.
Policy team support: Will assist Policy Team members on issues in their portfolios, as needed. This may include assisting in the review of policy recommendations on healthcare topics or assisting with the development of policy white papers or other writings.
Industry knowledge: Will be responsible for keeping up with industry reports. May be responsible for analyzing and communicating report findings to appropriate staff.
Be currently enrolled in a graduate program of study at an accredited college or university, ideally in healthcare policy, public health, or a related program;
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, in a team environment, and on an individual basis;
Be detail-oriented, well-organized, self-motivated;
Possess strong written communication skills;
Capable of analyzing detailed legislation, regulation, and guidance;
Have an understanding of state and federal legislative and regulatory processes; and,
An understanding of Medicare and/or Medicaid programs (preferred)
**Must be enrolled in a full-time accredited university program throughout the internship
**If selected for an interview, candidates will be required to submit two concise writing samples. (e.g. summaries, internal communications, briefs)
