The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the interpretation and data entry of basic prescriptions, prior authorization processing, troubleshooting adjudication issues and the preparing, labeling and packing of prescription medications.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Verifies member information and inputs data for the pharmacists.
Educates members on pharmacy based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.
Processes prior authorization requests from physician offices and ensures compliance with Medicare requirements; informs relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.
Assist Pharmacist(s) in accurately reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and packing of prescription medications.
Routinely label, rotate and segregate outdated inventory.
Coordinate the disposal of outdated, discontinued, and/or unsaleable/recalled merchandise.
Registered Pharmacy Technician in State of Florida required
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
1 year of retail pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
Knowledge of pharmacy operating system McKesson Enterprise RX preferred.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills preferred.
