The Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AIM, reporting to the President/CEOof AIM, will be a skilled operator with strong collaborative and cross-functional capabilities that will help drive successful execution ofAIM’s growth strategy through diversified product offerings and strategic partnerships. This role will sit at the intersection ofAIMexecutive & P&L leadership, and will serve as the primary liaison with Anthemand its Diversified Business Groupasprincipal clientsand shared services partner. AIM’s COO will lead day-to-day corporate operations, including oversight ofsolution & client platformexecution, operating modelperformance,businessgoalexecution,and large scaleproject and implementation management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • OverseeAIM’scorporate operations and operating model implementation, including the annual deployment of and monitoring of the goals and objectives framed by long-range strategic plan.

  • Lead and facilitate efforts for achievement of the Transformation targets forAIM.Work with other executive leaders to integrate the business planning with financial planning and coordinate efforts with other parts of the Company.

  • Drive synergies between product, business, and technology, to ensureAIMenters the market as a positively disruptive force.

  • Oversee the lifecycle management process that proactively assures optimal value and ensure ROI is maintained throughAIMproducts and programs.

  • Ensure projects are managed and prioritized, implemented in a timely manner and that targeted ROI is achieved, and coordinate and support annual cost & budget, associate engagement and PM planning processes.

  • Oversee the financial performance of initiatives as they relate to theAIMoperating plan, working to identify potential shortfalls or additional cost saving opportunities. Manage and implement processes to ensure negotiated contracts result in cost containment forAIM.

  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with each portfolio company to ensure client and market needs are understood, potential solutions are explored and vetted, and opportunities for revenue-generating offerings are fully developed.

  • Oversee planning and execution activities to migrate existing Anthem infrastructure, people and products to DBGand AIMand to integrate newly acquired external entities.

  • Serve as the matrix leader and liaison withDBG andAnthem shared services functions, including legal, compliance, IT, facility and procurement, management, project and implementation management, corporate communications, and others as requested.

  • Coordinate the communication and implementation of key decisions and approved action plans.

  • Design and execute core business segment management and governance processes.

  • Conduct in-depth strategic research for assigned areas and provide analytical support, including analysis and synthesis of regulatory and legal documents with high attention to detail.

  • Provide execution and planning support, and serves as personal advisor to theAIMPresident and assigned executive and business segment leaders.

  • Triage work that requires cross-divisional prioritization/allocation of resources on ongoing basis.

  • Lead comprehensive business process-improvement planning and activities forAIM.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field is preferred.

  • Fifteen or more years of experience in operating executive leadership role or strategic/management consulting environment working with executive level staff.

  • Experience in healthcare industry, including with health plans, ACOs, payors, providers, lifescience firms etc., required.

  • Decisive, quick on your feet, strong executive presence with the ability to drive growth and execute.

  • Competitive and entrepreneurial mindset to drive growth in new and existing markets with ability to identifyopportunities, innovate solutions, interact with decision makers and provide highest-quality results.

  • Demonstrated capacity and track record of acting with a sense of urgency to strategically and tactically evaluate, implement and improve upon sophisticated operational strategies, programs and initiatives and work with a variety of organizational leaders to build consensus.

  • A high degree of learning agility, able to quickly identify the business levers and the financial underpinnings.

  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, process orientation, and execution skills.

  • Collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams to develop solution-oriented products andpartnerships.

  • Strong communication skills, with ability to develop compelling written communications, term sheets, and presentations.

  • Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities while flawlessly executing on driving deliverables throughout a project cycle.

  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

  • Experience building high performing teams, including developing, managing, and coaching for success.
