Digital Product Manager Sr

Anthem’s Commercial Product Group is looking for an innovative, high energy, strategic problem solver to play an integral role in our matrixed team as we power Anthem’s future and transform the model of U.S. health care. We will do this through a digital-first solution and focus on the entry point to care, meeting members at the moments that matter and in the ways that work best for them. We will pursue end-to-end opportunities that maximize our members’, providers’ experiences, improve health outcomes, and drive medical cost trend improvement. We will leverage exponential technologies and effectively assemble digital, data, and analytical assets and capabilities in this endeavor.

LOCATION: This is currently a telecommuter position but will be transitioned to an in-office assignment post-COVID-19 with the potential for 15% travel. The selected candidate should be located near an Anthem office, with a strong preference for Chicago.

Responsible for the ongoing strategic development of new and existing capabilities of digital products from inception to launch and lifecycle.

Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and interpret market research and competitive intelligence to determine ways to competitively enhance product capabilities.

  • Partners with business stakeholders and IT to determine the best solutions to enhance functionality and increase user satisfaction.

  • Work with the design team to organize and evaluate results from usability studies. Evaluate how variations in the product design can impact its overall effectiveness.

  • Works with autonomy and is responsible for driving project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems.

  • Develops and tracks resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans.

  • Compiles complex data and able to prepare and deliver presentations.

  • Works across project teams to maintain and update project documents, e.g., requirements and roadmap, design decisions, project plan, and schedule, issues log.

  • Facilitates resolution of issues and prepares recurring program status reports.

  • Leads project meetings, capture discussion notes and follows through on next steps.

  • Develops program success measures and performs periodic assessments.

  • Identifies, documents, and prioritizes scope changes and facilitates the approval process.

  • Supports management in overall objectives.


  • Requires a BA/BS degree; 5 years of experience in digital product management; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required (PowerPoint and Excel most important).


  • 5 years of management consulting experience.

  • Prior direct to consumer and/or healthcare industry digital experience.
